To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic Bauhaus movement, Concordia’s Milieux Institute hosted the milieuXbauhaus Festival in November 2019—a vibrant, cross-disciplinary event exploring the intersections of art, technology, culture, and design.
I developed the branding and visual identity for the festival, drawing inspiration from Bauhaus principles of form, function, and experimentation. The design language blended bold geometric shapes, dynamic compositions, and a vibrant, contemporary color palette that paid homage to the Bauhaus aesthetic while infusing a modern edge.
This visual system was implemented across six alternate poster series, a meticulously designed program, and a suite of spatial wayfinding elements, including signage, banners, and navigational graphics, which seamlessly guided participants through the festival’s various events.
For the digital experience, I created engaging social media graphics that extended the visual identity online, ensuring cohesive storytelling and audience engagement. The result was a visually striking and cohesive brand presence that unified workshops, screenings, talks, performances, and parties, while embodying the Bauhaus spirit of innovation and interdisciplinarity.
