About

The Studio

Founded in 2015 by Patil Tchilinguirian, Patchil is a research-driven studio at the intersection of art and design. Based in Montreal, Tiohtià:ke, we collaborate with clients across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

We believe in the art of storytelling, weaving narratives into every detail, big or small. Each design we create tells a story, making sure every moment, every element, connects and resonates. From strategy to branding, environmental graphics, and print, we craft work that questions, reflects, and inspires.

We partner with clients to uncover their unique voice and shape how they’re seen in the world. Whether shaping ideas, people, places, or products, every project begins with a story. We listen to capture the essence of an idea — the foundation that guides every creative choice.

Strategy brings clarity, helping us define what sets you apart and translate it into a cohesive vision. Through thoughtful execution and fresh thinking, we create work that resonates with meaning and endures with purpose.

The Artist

Hello, marhaba, salut, parev—I'm Patil, an artist fluent in English, Arabic, French, and Armenian.

My practice intertwines prints, pixels, and fibers, bridging design and art, craftsmanship and technology. I explore historical and political narratives through alternative lenses, blending factual storytelling with socio-material inquiry to challenge cultural perceptions and foster new forms of sustainability and transmission.

Emerging from a diasporic lens and an engagement with materiality, my work amplifies underrepresented voices and brings obscured histories to light. Fabric, as a medium, allows me to craft emotional dialogues and grant political agency to the hidden stories woven within us. Among my various projects, my tufted creations bring me the greatest joy and fulfillment.

My work has been exhibited in group shows across Montreal, Paris, Beirut, Barcelona, Istanbul, Venice, and Berlin. Beyond my studio practice, I engage with communities through cultural interventions, conferences, and workshops, creating spaces for dialogue and connection.

Custom Creations

At Patchil, I transform ideas into tactile, one-of-a-kind tufted pieces—whether bold wall art or lush brooches. Blending rich textures, vibrant colors, and intricate craftsmanship, each piece tells a story of movement, memory, and transformation. Inspired by organic patterns, abstract forms, and personal narratives, Patchil creations invite touch, contemplation, and connection.
