Fungiculture (2015)
Foraging through the city of Beirut, walking at the speed of bodily pleasure and contemplation, one can notice the growth of different types and sizes of mushrooms in urban environments interacting with diverse urban elements. Just like in their natural habitat, these mushrooms grow in the city out of grime and desolate places. Fungiculture is a street art project through which I attempt to imprint an element of nature in Beirut, by spreading a network of mushrooms leaving a "nature trail" through the concrete urban cityscape. I believe that Beirut lacks a great deal of open space reserves and green spaces and this project asserts my opinion and acts as an incentive to express my citizenship to Beirut in my own way.
