I designed and produced the publication for The Enchantment of Textiles, a research-creation project led by Studio SubTela. The project brought together a wide constellation of researchers, artists, and thinkers working at the intersection of textile practice, technology, and embodied knowledge.
My role involved shaping a visual and editorial framework that could hold the project’s complexity while remaining tactile, poetic, and rooted in material thinking. I approached the book not just as a document, but as an extension of the textile work itself—slow, layered, and sensorial.
Working closely with the studio, I translated research threads, performance remnants, and conceptual frameworks into a cohesive editorial rhythm. The layout interweaves text, imagery, and negative space to echo the entanglement of fiber and code, gesture and theory.
Throughout the process, I explored multiple visual directions—some of which were ultimately set aside, yet played a vital role in shaping the final outcome. These initial compositions, studies, and abandoned paths became part of a larger thinking-through-making approach, offering insights into how form evolves through intuition, dialogue, and care.
